We will update the Mackerel pricing structure from 1 November 2024. This announcement is a reminder of the 23 April 2024 announcement, but please check it again as there will be a change to the price.
Background of the change
Mackerel is currently developing to improve observability in cloud environments. In November 2024, we plan to officially launch support for OpenTelemetry, which allows handling metrics in multiple dimensions that are currently provided as beta version. In order to introduce a metric that is not bound by the unit of "hosts" and to enable more flexible use of metrics, we have decided to introduce a new pricing structure. For more information about the background and philosophy of the development, please also see the article here (in Japanese).
And, in order to continue to provide stable services and evolve as a product in the rapidly changing social situation, including the recent sharp fluctuations in esxchange rates and the rising cost of servers, we will be revising our pricing structure, including price increases. As a result, some customers may experience a significant increase in prices. We kindly ask for your understanding and appreciate your continued support.
Changes
- A new pricing unit called "Metric" will be introduced, and the free Service Metric quota will be abolished
- The price of "Standard Host" will be increased
- A "Minimum Usage Fee" will be introduced
