Vaxila now has the ability to check the frequency of queries from applications to the database, and more

Hello, this is Mackerel team CRE's id:kmuto . How did you all spend the end of the year and the beginning of the new year? Thank you for your continued support this year.

So, let's take a look at the first update of 2025.

Vaxila now has the ability to check the frequency of queries from applications to the database

Have you noticed that our distributed tracing service Vaxila has a new menu item called "Database"?

The "Database Performance" screen that opens from this menu allows you to see a list of the database queries included in the trace span of the application (the queries are those whose query strings are stored as the values of the db.statement or db.query.text attributes).

The queries within the period are ordered by the number of executions, so you can identify the queries that are executed frequently. We are also planning to develop a function to find slow queries, so please look forward to it.

Usage statistics for past months now can be referred to on the Usage tab

For customers who have been applied under the new billing structure since 1 November 2024, we have provided a function that allows you to check the number of hosts and metrics on the "Usage" tab of the Organisation.

We apologise for the inconvenience caused by the inability to display usage statistics for previous months up until last month (on December), but we are now able to display usage statistics for previous months. You can switch between months by using the < and > symbols on either side of the year/month (regardless of actual usage, the months before November 2024 will be displayed as empty).

We will continue to work towards providing better observability services with you in 2025. Thank you for your continued support of Mackerel this year!
